COIMBATORE: C Dhanabal, brother of C Kanagaraj, prime accused in Kodanad case killed in a road mishap, said a conspiracy is being made to prevent him from giving his confession statement to the CB-CID police.

“I will declare the truth by appearing before the CB-CID police in Coimbatore on September 14,” he told reporters and added that police could subject him for a lie detector test, if needed.

Countering accusations by AIADMK’s Salem district secretary (suburban) R Elangovan, Dhanabal said, “I am speaking in a good state of mind. My actions were not instigated by O Panneerselvam, TTV Dhinakaran or the DMK. There is no truth in his claim that Panneerselvam met me in prison.”

Further, Dhanabal said, “an AIADMK functionary came forward to give money in crore to stop me from speaking out against them. However, I refused. I have been fighting for the people of Tamil Nadu to know the truth on the Kodanad issue.”

Dhanabal also claimed to have submitted a petition to police seeking protection, as there is a threat to his life.
