Quitting MBBS can cost Rs 10 lakh

A fine of Rs 10lakh should be paid by the students studying in government or private medical colleges who want to quit MBBS, says Directorate of Medical Education.

Counselling for Tamil Nadu government and private medical colleges and dental colleges took place in two phases and all the seats were filled.

Students admitted in colleges through counselling who wish to quit must pay fine as stated in the notice issued by the Directorate of Medical Education.

According to the notice, if a student wishes to quit from government or private colleges can return their seats by quitting immediately. If the student quits after 6th August, a fine of Rs 1 lakh should be paid as stated in the affirmative certificate produced during the counselling.
