Postal employees in State receive excellence awards

Employees belong to various circles in Tamil Nadu Postal Circle were given excellence awards for winning competitions at the circle level.

As many as 60 awards were distributed by the principal chief commissioner of Customs, M Ajit Kumar, at an event on Wednesday, a release from the department said.


During the event, chief postmaster general of Tamil Nadu Circle M Sampath released a special cover remembering Mahatma Gandhi. Pondicherry, Tiruchy and Chennai City South Postal Offices secured all-round performance awards.


“In 2018-19, the Tamil Nadu Postal Circle, with 16.42 per cent growth, has earned a revenue of Rs 1244.64 crore besides a premium collection of Rs 1153.32 crore from postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance schemes,” the statement said.
