Pondy to take stringent measures to contain spread of COVID 19: Pondy Chief Minister V Narayanasamy

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Sunday hinted that the administration was contemplating to take stringent measures in the Union Territory to contain the spread of the cornavirus.

In an audio clip sent to the press here, he pointed out the increasing number of corona patients and said that after the video conference with the Modi on Tuesday, the Puducherry administration propose to initiate some stringent measures and the public should be prepared to face it.

During a meenting on Saturday with the top officials of the administration, Narayanasamy noted that while revenue is important for the government, so are the lives of people. Regretting that the cooperation of the public in the efforts of the government to contain the spread of the virus is very little, Narayanasamy said that unless the public and traders cooperate, the efforts of the government will not be a success.
