Pondy gets ‘Best Clean District’ award from Jal Shakti Ministry

Puducherry has been selected as the “Best Clean District” by the Jal Shakti Ministry of the Union Government.

According to a release from the office of the Chief Minister on Saturday, the Ministry had assessed the cleanliness in schools, primary health centres, Anganwadis and markets all over the country and selected Puducherry district for the award.


Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will give away the award at a function to be held in New Delhi On November 19. Chief Minister V Narayanasamy thanked the officials of the departments concerned and the people who made this possible.
