Talking to reporters, Manohar charged that the development of the Union Territory is worsening day by day and the Chief Minister and Lt Governor indulged in power tussle and failed to look into the welfare of the people.

Parties which claimed to be ‘fighters’ are keeping silence as they are in Congress alliance and the Opposition too failed to question when Puducherry is reeling under severe financialcrunch, he said.

Manohar said, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy won the power struggle case and now all powers wrests with him. “Even then, he is doing nothing for the welfare of the people and the people need an answer to this from his side,” he added.

Manohar said he cannot keep silent when the people are suffering and added that he kept away from politics and now decided to strive for peoples’ welfare. He had decided to float a new political party following the path of Kamaraj. Exhorting the people to extend support to his new party, Manohar said that his party will certainly be against corruption and fighting for the welfare of the people.

Manohar was elected to the territorial Assembly from Ouppalam constituency on a Congress ticket and later quit.
