Melur Inspector Deiveega Pandian said gay relationship between the deceased and the accused, who’s absconding, is suspected behind the killing. As there’s no major external injury on the body, the accused could have strangled him to death. Further investigations revealed that the accused, who maintained gay relationship with the deceased for nearly a year, got married a week ago. The accused with the intent to continue such relationship called the victim over cell phone some time before the incident occurred. There’s a cut injury on victim’s left wrist. Melur police have filed a case under Section 302 of IPC and a manhunt has been launched, the Inspector said.
