“Pre-poll surveys are biased and the results favour a particular party. The results of pre-poll surveys can influence the decision of voters and there should be no second thought in banning the pre-poll surveys,” said Ramadoss, in a tweet.

As the Assembly election for the state is scheduled next year, political parties in the state are preparing for the election. Along with preparation the demand for banning EVMs have also resurfaced.

To support the stand of political parties, former chief election commissioner SY Quraishi stated that EVMs cannot be trusted and the VVPAT slips can be counted to determine the winners.

Quoting the statement of Quraishi, Ramadoss said that PMK had been raising doubts on the credibility of EVMs.

“EVMs can be tampered and so VVPAT slips should be counted as suggested by Quraishi. EC should ensure transparency in the election process,” said Ramadoss.
