Plastic bags banned in Tiruchi

The city Corporation banned use of polythene bags within its limits.

The decision was taken following complaints of heavy use of polythene bags by hotels, bakeries and shops.

The corporation advised the shops to use cloth bags or vessels instead of polythene bags, officials said.
