Govindarasu tested positive yesterday and is been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. With this, the number of MLAs affected by the corona has risen to 18.

Peravurani AIADMK MLA Govindarasu tests positive for COVID

There has been a continuous surge in COVID cases in the state. This includes bureaucrats and political people too. Minister Sellur Raju, Higher Education Minister KP Anbazhagan were also affected.

Unfortunately, there are few who succumbed to the infection, which includes DMK MLA, J. Anbalagan, who died last month owing to co-morbid conditions combined with the deadly corona viral infection.

The recent one to get affected is AIADMK MLA Govindarasu of Peravurani constituency, Tanjore district. Reports said that Govindarasu tested positive yesterday and is been admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

Yesterday, yet another DMK MLA Thangapandian, representing Rajapalayam constituency tested positive for coronavirus.

With this, the number of MLAs affected by the corona has risen to 18.

Tamil Nadu has reported 5,849 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, according to the State's Health Department. This is the first time the single-day toll has crossed 5k. The total tally has risen to 1,86,492 in the state.
