A day after actor Rajinikanth expressed his political views, majority of the senior AIADMK leaders chose to stay away from reacting to the actor.

Cooperatives Minister Sellur K Raju, who reviewed the drinking water facility set up at the Amma memorial at Marina, said on Friday that actor Rajinikanth is known for his open views.

“The actor has said that there is a political vacuum in the state. I guess that the actor is staying mostly out of the country for his cinema shoots. There is no political vacuum and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has proved his political mettle. The Chief Minister has proved his political prowess by declaring Cauvery Delta region as a protected agricultural zone,” Raju said, adding that the law and order situation was at its best in Tamil Nadu, proving the governance of the Chief Minister.

“Any person who floats a political party is welcome to air his views, but we will react only when the actor floats his party,” Minister D Jayakumar said on Friday.
