Nearly 30,000 electric poles uprooted: Tangedco

As many as 29,500 electric poles were uprooted across the State, while several transformers and sub-stations were also damanged in the cyclone.

According to Tangedco officials, 10,500 high tension electric poles and 19,000 low tension electric poles fell down in various districts.

Besides, 3,245 km of electric lines was snapped due to the winds. 205 transformers and three high tension electrical towers also fell down, a official said.

According to the officials, power supply would be resumed in the affected districts in another two days as workers deputed there are working round the clock to set things right.
