The tragic incident occurred at Nainarkulam tank near Suchindram in the early hours of Tuesday, sources said. The deceased victims have been identified as Pankajam (70), wife of Vadivel Murugan, who’s aged about 75, and her elder daughter Mala (46). Mythili alias Sachu (45), the younger daughter ws who survived. The bodies were found floating in the tank at around 5.45 am, when Sekar, a florist spotted the victims, while collecting lotus flowers. Suchindram police retrieved the bodies and rushed Sachuo to Kanyakumari GMC Hospital at Asaripallam. Investigations revealed that Vadivel Murugan, the sole breadwinner of the family, died after falling ill in house at Olugunaseri on Monday night. Unable to bear the loss, the bereaved family took the extreme step. The Based on a complaint, Suchindram police have filed a case under Section 174 of Cr.P.C.
