Police said five persons, Kishore, Gautham, Mahesh Kumar, Gunasekaran and Baskaran, all residing at Andigounder Colony in Nethimedu had parked their vehicles together under a shed in front of their house.

“Miscreants poured petrol and set fire to their vehicles. On seeing the raging fire, the residents attempted to douse the fire, but vehicles were all burnt by then,” police said.

In a similar incident, three bikes parked in front of houses at Kondalampatty Roundana near SK Nagar were burnt by miscreants. On receiving a complaint, the Annadanapatty police registered a case and further inquiries are on to trace the culprits.

Police suspect the same persons to have involved in both incidents.
