Mauritius minister meets Subramanian, explores TN’s advanced healthcare model

He discussed the State’s health infrastructure and facilities, expressing interest in possible areas of collaboration.

CHENNAI: Mauritius Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Hambyrajen Narsinghen met Health Minister Ma Subramanian at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Omandurar Estate on Monday.

During the meeting, Narsinghen sought details of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, training for advanced medical procedures, procurement of medicines, Indian systems of medicine, pharmaceutical production and opportunities in medical tourism. He discussed the State’s health infrastructure and facilities, expressing interest in possible areas of collaboration.

Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration R Lalvena, Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Vijayalakshmi, Project Director of the Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society Seethalakshmi, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Somasundaram, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services Chitra, and Honorary Consul of Mauritius in Chennai Malayappan Nagalingam were present along with senior officials.
