Let EPS, OPS decide on 2nd capital: Sellur K Raju

While some politicians in the ruling AIADMK are at loggerheads over the establishment of a new capital with some proposing Madurai and others Tiruchy for the status, Sellur K Raju, Cooperation Minister on Thursday passed the ball into the court of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. “Let them take a final call in this regard,” he said in Madurai.

A few days ago, RB Udhayakumar, Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management and Information Technology, during a meeting with party cadre here expressed his wish for Madurai to become the second capital of Tamil Nadu. Recalling this, the Cooperation Minister said he seconded the proposal.

Heaping praise on the Chief Minister, Raju referring to key infrastructure development projects underway through ‘Smart City Mission,’ told reporters that people would witness a ‘new Madurai’ in six months.
