Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet ministers, Parliament members from Puducherry Vaithilingam and Gokula Krishnan are also slated to participate in the event while PU Vice-Chancellor professor Gurmeet Singh will preside overthe convocation.
PhD degrees will be conferred to 2015 candidates (131 men and 74 women), and 117 gold medals will be awarded totoppers in various disciplines like UG/PG/PhD programmes duringthe convocation.
About 19,289 candidates will be conferred with their degrees in various disciplines with 15,020 being regular students and 4,269 are students of Directorate of Distance Education.
