Jumbo Vinayagan raids crops at Gudalur

Despite heightened vigil by the Forest Department, wild elephant Vinayagan continued to stray into villages by damaging the solar fence at Gudalur in The Nilgiris.

After two days, the elephant intruded into settlements at the Karisanakolli area near Bospara on Saturday night. The elephant broke into the solar fence put up surrounding the farms and raided coconut, areca nut and other crops.

Meanwhile, a team of officials from Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) visited the MDT-23 tiger in Mysuru zoo to know its health status and treatment given.
