Jaya's birthday to be celebrated as 'Girl child Safety' day: CM

CM Edappadi Palanisami has announced that the birthday of former CM Jayalalitha will be henceforth celebrated as 'Girl Child Safety' day.

As per the reports, CM has proposed that former CM and AIADMK General Secretary Late. Jayalalitha's birthday which falls on February 24, will be celebrated state wide as 'Girl Child Safety' day.

This announcement comes under the constitution law (110). As per the announcement, it is proposed that destituted girl children, will be awarded Rs.2 lakhs once they attain the age of 21. EPS also said that the destituted children will be provided with a government job based on the age and qualification.

A subsidy of Rs. 4000 will be granted to the guardians, who take care of destituted children.

EPS announced that a special prize/recognition will be awarded to the district that strive for gender equality.

The Govt. has sanctioned Rs.15 crore for Haj pilgrimage house in Chennai. The pension for Ulmas have been increased to Rs.3000.

This proposal was submitted in the Assembly today.
