House of BHEL staffer burgled in Tiruchy

Unidentified miscreants escaped with 35 sovereigns and Rs 80,000 in cash after breaking into a house of a BHEL employee here on Tuesday

Sources said A Rajkumar (36), residing at the BHEL township, had gone to Theni to visit his relatives on Monday. Upon returning on Tuesday, he found the doors of his house to be damaged. He then noticed the broken almirah. The 35 sovereign jewels and Rs 80,000 in cash kept inside it was found missing. 

Later, he lodged a complaint with the BHEL police, who along with finger print experts and a sniffer dog, rushed to the spot and conducted investigation. A case has been registered. 

In another case of burglary, a gang broke into the house of Mathivanan (38), a private company employee, in KK Nagar. They escaped with gold and cash worth a total of Rs 2.94 lakh. 

Based on the complaint filed by Mathivanan, KK Nagar police rushed to the spot and conducted a investigation.
