A group of activists blamed the administration for raising the building on a spot where once a water body existed. This charge was however denied by Corporation Commissioner Kranthi Kumar Pati, who also inspected the building on Wednesday. Later, in the evening, the contractor who was entrusted with the works, deployed men and machinery to demolish the weak buildings and raise a new one at the same spot. The demolition works commenced under the supervision of officials from PWD and Corporation.
