Government appoints 2,570 nurses on 6-month contract

The state government on Friday said 2,570 nurses will be appointed on a six-month contract to serve in COVID-19 wards. In a statement issued here the government said, all the 2,570 nurses will be appointed on contract basis.

Such persons have to report for duty within three days of receiving the appointment orders. The appointment comes in the wake of Tamil Nadu registering a higher number of COVID-19 patients in recent times.

On Thursday, 580 persons tested positive in the state taking the total tally of 5,409 persons. The total number of active cases in the state stands at 3,822 after factoring COVID-19 deaths and discharged patients.
