Authorities have arrested a godwoman in Tamil Nadu for using snakes during her 'poojas'.

Kabila caught the attention of officials when  videos with a cobra around her neck went viral.

Reports say officers showed up after complaints to Kancheepuram district authorities that she was keeping snakes at her 'temple'.

The godwoman said snake poojas were performed during the inauguration of her temple in Kancheepuram in 2018.

Kabila reportedly admitted using snakes during the poojas was not right, but she insisted she did not make money from it, according to reports.

She also said people who did not like her tipped off the authorities to spoil her name.
