VELLORE: Based on the recommendation of Gudiyattam DSP Ramamoorthy, Vellore SP S Rajesh Kannan suspended five policemen including 2 special SIs and two head constables for negligence when on duty on Tuesday evening. This follows DSP Ramamoorthy who undertook a surprise inspection of the state border check post at Christianpet finding that the cops were totally negligent as they failed to check any vehicle entering Vellore district from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The suspended cops include special SIs Srikanth (Katpadi police station) and Vijayan (Melpadi police station), prohibition wing head constables Motilal and Narayanasamy and first grade constable Jagadeesan.
