Five including 2 juveniles held for attacking Nellai jeweller, 3 kg gold recovered

Five persons, including two juveniles, were arrested in Tirunelveli district on Thursday in connection with the recent attack on a jeweller at Veeravanallur.

The gang after assaulting the jeweller snatched away a bag containing nearly 4 kg jewels. After having arrested them, the special team recovered 3 kg of gold, Tirunelveli Superintendent of Police P Saravanan said. Those arrested are Sudhakar, Ayyappan and Maruthupandi. Hunt is on to nab two more accused in the case, the SP said.
