Express, suburban rail service hit due to signal glitch

TIRUVALLUR: Several travellers who take the express and suburban trains faced a lot of hardship on Saturday due to a signal failure near Tiruvallur.

There was a sudden signal delay between Tiruvalangadu and Mosur railway station at 7 am following which, the Coimbatore Express which was proceeding on the Arakkonam route and the Saptagiri Express, were brought to a halt.

This led to a delay of suburban trains in the route.

As the trains were stopped without notice, commuters, employees of private companies, government employees and labourers were unable to reach their workplaces on time.
