ED carries out searches in five places in Chennai

CHENNAI: The sleuths from the enforcement directorate carried out searches in five places linked to the water resources department in the city on Tuesday.

According to sources raids were carried out in the house one Pothipani Thilagam, an engineer attached to WRD, office of superintendent engineer of WRD in Ezhilagam, house of another engineer named Muthaiah in Alandur, house and office of a chartered accountant in Anna Nagar and a house of one Ramachandran in Teynampet.

Sources added that the ongoing raids are part of investigation into the alleged malpractices in the mining department and water resources department.
