DVAC seizes Rs 3.70 lakh from Kumari govt office

DVAC sleuths in a surprise raid at the office of assistant director of Kanniyakumari Town Panchayat Madasamy Sundararajan late on Saturday seized unaccounted cash of Rs 3.70 lakh.

The sleuths entered the office, which is located on the premises of Kanniyakumari Collectorate in Nagercoil around 9 pm, sources said on Sunday. The sleuths verified some documents and conducted search operations, which lasted for about three hours. The assistant director was also interrogated during the raid.  However, he was not arrested by the DVAC, which is verifying his source of income. But, Madasamy Sundararajan has been facing departmental action, sources said.
