Cotton godown in Peelamedu catches fire

For reasons unknown, a cotton godown in the Coimbatore town, had caught fire on Saturday morning. The godown being situated in a residential area, made the locals anxious.

Ramachandran rented a godown in Coimbatore's Peelamedu for cotton separation from wastes. At 8 on Saturday morning the godown started catching fire. Being a cotton godown, the fire has aggravated.

Three fire engines with 20 firefighters lead by Muthukumaraswami, from Peelamedu and Singanallur arrived at the spot. The fire was doused after five hours of labourious firefighting. However, the place was completely in ashes. The police are looking into the cause of the fire.
