CM Salin’s Republic-Day medals for 44 intel experts

The medals are instituted to acknowledge exemplary service and motivate personnel engaged in sensitive and high-risk assignments.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday ordered the conferment of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Medal for Excellence in Intelligence and Excellence in Special Operations on 44 personnel on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.

The awards will be given to 43 police officers and personnel, and to one Special Branch Assistant from the Intelligence Unit, in recognition of outstanding performance in intelligence work and special operations.

The medals are instituted to acknowledge exemplary service and motivate personnel engaged in sensitive and high-risk assignments.

Each awardee will receive a gold medal weighing 10 grams along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000. The medals will be presented by the Chief Minister at a function to be held later.
