CM announces Kallakurichi as 33rd district of TN

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced in the assembly that Kallakurichi will be the 33rd district of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced in the assembly that Kallakurichi will be carved out of Vilupuram and formed as the 33rd district of Tamil Nadu.

Kallakurichi emerged as an important agricultural town of Villupuram district, becoming the hub of prolific businesses. Chief Minister informed in the assembly that the new district was created to sort out the administrative inconvenience, as Villupuram is one of the largest districts of Tamil Nadu.

The announcement of new district has fulfilled the long-pending demand of the people of this region.
