Class 12 board exams begin today

The stage is all set for Class 12 students to appear for board examinations from Friday. The Tamil Nadu government has made elaborate arrangements for its smooth conduct.

More than eight lakh students will appear on the first day. After a gap of three days, students will write English exam on Tuesday.


This year, the government has set up 150 more exam centres for the benefit of the students.


In Chennai, there are 158 exam centres and 49,410 students from 408 schools will appear there. A total of 44,400 teachers are deployed for invigilation in 2,944 exam centres across the State.


The School Education Department has also set up exam control rooms in all the districts. Students and teachers can contact in 9385494105, 9385494115, 9385494120 and 9385494125 for exam-related issues.
