‘Black magic’ couple held with woman’s body in Perambalur

A couple reportedly practising black magic with a body preserved in a wooden box wsa arrested in Perambalur on March 10.

Acting on complaints from the public, who grew suspicious after foul smell emanated from a house at MM Nagar near Perambalur Municipality, a team of the Perambalur town police rushed to the spot and conducted a search on the house belonging to S Karthick (31) and his wife Deepika alias Nazeema (22), during which it found a woman’s body in a wooden box. During inquiries, Karthick admitted that he was practicing black magic for more than three years at the rented house. 

Karthick claimed that he was acting as a mediator between the dead persons and their family members and was offering solutions to domestic issues. People from from TN and neighbouring states like AP, Kerala and Karnataka used to visit him. 

It is said that Karthick was buying bodies for the purpose. Police are now probing from where he was getting the corpses. A few skeletons and skulls were recovered from the house. Police also suspect that he might have been involved in human sacrifice.
