Speaking after the opening of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) office in Namakkal, the actor-politician’s brother said that an announcement about the launch is imminent and that Rajinikanth is in consultation with family, friends and well-wishers regarding the dates and that he will address the issue when the time is right.

On being quizzed about a potential alliance with the BJP, Sathyanarayana said that no such alliance is in the works and asked that no speculation be made on the subject as it is not right.

Rajinikanth on his return to Chennai on Saturday after the filming of his latest movie, put rumours to rest by categorically denying the information about the launch of his party on his birthday on December 12.

However, RMM sources have indicated that more information about the launch date and party name can be expected on the day.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth met his friend and founder of the New Justice Party A C Shanmugam at his residence in Poes Garden on Sunday. The 67-year-old declared his intention to enter politics in December 31 last year. Since his announcement, the fan clubs of Rajinikanth across the state have been organised under RMM.
