7-year-old girl’s rape and murder: Netizens and celebrities demand death penalty to the accused

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has initiated its probe in the case. The police investigation has revealed that the girl was abducted by the accused when she was playing outside her home. Her parents had lodged a complaint with the police and she was found dead with injuries on Wednesday.

After the rape and murder of a 7-year-old girl in Tamil Nadu’s Aranthangi, netizens and celebrities have taken to social media to express their shock over the incident. They are also tagging the Tamil nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to award death penalty to the 28-year-old accused, who accepted to committing the crime.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has initiated its probe in the case. The police investigation has revealed that the girl was abducted by the accused when she was playing outside her home. Her parents had lodged a complaint with the police and she was found dead with injuries on Wednesday.

The police have arrested one person and search is on for another. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh to her family. Palaniswami added that he has ordered the police to take fast action in the case. In a statement, RG Anand, Member NCPCR, said the Commission has started its probe in the case.

DMK President M.K. Stalin in a social media post said such incidents have put a question mark on the safety of girl child and women in Tamil Nadu.
