MADURAI: Seven persons were arrested in parts of Thoothukudi on Sunday after being charged with peddling ganja. Thoothukudi north police also seized 6.8 kilograms of ganja, Rs 27,500 in cash and two bikes from the accused, sources said.

It was the police who were engaged in patrolling that found the accused moving in a suspicious manner and nabbed them. They were identified as K Sudharshan (28), O Santhosh (41), S Ayyathurai alias Suresh (33), K Simpson (26), T Palavesam alias Selvam (27), S Meeran alias Moorthy (21) and M Dakshinamoorthy (19), said sources adding that further investigations are underway.
