Over 67000 people skip constable recruitment test

3,66,000 lakh applicants have for 3,552 vacancies. Candidates were admitted after strict checking into the exam centres.

CHENNAI: Over 67000 people, among 3.66 lakh applicants who applied for common recruitment of grade II police constables, grade II jail wardens and firemen skipped the written exam on Sunday, an official from Tamil Nadu Uniform Service Recruitment Board disclosed.

The written test on two subjects – Tamil language and main written examination, also in Tamil – were conducted at 295 centres in 35 districts on Sunday. Of the total 3.66 lakh applicants 2.99 lakh were male applicants, 59 were transgenders while the rest were female aspirants.

However, of the total 3.66 lakh who had applied over more than 67,000 applicants failed to turn up for the exam, for which the minimum education qualification was set as 10th standard.
