40-yr-old worker gored to death in Dharmapuri

The deceased, identified by police as C Kulandhaivel from Papparapatti in Pennagaram, attempted to control the racing bull.

COIMBATORE: A 40-year-old construction worker was gored to death by a bull at an unauthorised bull racing (erudhu vidum vizha) event in Dharmapuri on Sunday night. The deceased, identified by police as C Kulandhaivel from Papparapatti in Pennagaram, attempted to control the racing bull.

Suddenly, the bull attacked him, and he collapsed, suffering critical injuries.

Police said Kulandhaivel was immediately rushed to Thoppur Government Hospital and then to Dharmapuri Government Hospital for further treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries without responding to treatment on Monday.

The Bommidi police have registered a case, and further inquiries are on. Three people have died in similar attacks during such unauthorised bull racing events held in Salem and Krishnagiri districts over the last few days.
