3 killed, 4 others critically injured as minivan rams electricity pole

The injured were Manimaran (23), Balaji (22), Dinesh (23) and Aravinth (24), sources said. Based on a complaint, Kundrakudi police have filed a case.

MADURAI: Three passengers were killed and four others grievously injured, after a minivan, in which they were travelling hit an electricity pole near Karaikudi in Sivaganga district on Sunday. Kundrakudi police rushed to the spot and held enquiries that revealed Jeyapal (45) of Edamalaipatti was driving the vehicle from Tiruchy along with six others. Jeyapal lost control and all of a sudden, hit the electricity pole. Jeyapal, the driver, Manikandan (43) and Aravind (33) succumbed to injuries on the spot. The injured were rushed to Karaikudi Government Hospital. The injured were Manimaran (23), Balaji (22), Dinesh (23) and Aravinth (24), sources said. Based on a complaint, Kundrakudi police have filed a case.
