Weakened by the absence of three crucial players in M Vijay, R Ashwin and regular captain Vijay Shankar, a depleted TN led by B Aparajith went down to Andhra by 29 runs. This was Andhra’s fourth win in a row and it is in pole position to qualify for the knock-out stages. Chasing 277 for a win, TN could manage only 247 before being bowled out in 48.5 overs.

After winning the toss, Aparajith put the visitor in to bat and Andhra openers KS Bharat 82 (85b, 9x4, 3x6) and Ashwin Hebbar 38, put on a strong foundation by adding 87 runs. The in-form Ricky Bhui continued his purple patch registering yet another half-century 52 (51b, 1x4, 3x6).
