Despite a fighting ninth-wicket partnership of 54 runs between Roshan Vasava (71) and Malhar H Ghevaria (23), Baroda (225 all-out), which required 66 runs with four wickets in hand on Monday, fell agonisingly short of the target (227). Tamil Nadu skipper Pradosh Ranjan Paul got the final wicket of Roshan in the first session of the last day, giving his side a close win.

Right-arm medium pacer H Prashid Akash (5/33) was the pick of the Tamil Nadu bowlers, sending half the Baroda side back to the pavilion. He ended with a match haul of nine for 95.
