Jolly Rovers is TNCA first division champion

Jolly Rovers regained the Rajah of Palayampatti shield after its first division final against Vijay CC was mutually called off at lunch on day three.

After Rovers took the slender lead on day two after dimissing Vijay CC for 249, Rovers negotiated the first session on Wednesday carefully and lost only two wickets — of M Kaushik Gandhi (41) and M Shahrukh Khan (25). S Lokeshwar (76 not out off 161 balls) and S Suresh Kumar (18 off 62 balls) defended well to ensure no further casualties. 

The two captains decided to call off the match at the stroke of lunch with Rovers on 178/2 in 48 overs. Rahil S Shah picked up both the wickets to fall on the third day. He finished with 2/41 in 15 overs. B Indrajith of Vijay CC finished as the top run getter with 739 runs while M Prabhu of India Pistons was the highest wicket taker with 26 scalps.
