IOA thanks NSFs, SOAs for contribution towards Covid-19 relief

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Sunday thanked the National Sports Federations (NSF) and State Olympic Associations (SOA) around the country for their monetary contribution towards fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

The IOA said that it received a total contribution of just over Rs 1 crore from the NSFs. The Kho Kho Federation of India and the Boxing Federation of India have made the biggest contributions at Rs ll lakh.

"The Indian Olympic Association is deeply grateful to its member National Sports Federations and State Olympics Associations and other federations/bodies for extending their support and humble contribution towards the cause of the nation's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," said the IOA.

Among the SOAs, the Uttaranchal Olympic Association has made the biggest contribution at Rs 5 lakh.

Additionally, a number of NSFs have made contributions of their own in addition to what they committed to the IOA. Hockey India has committed Rs 1 crore to the cause while the All India Football Federation has committed Rs 25 lakh.
