Fans miss Lasith Malinga after Mumbai Indians' loss in Super Over against RCB

Although the score was too low for Bumrah to defend successfully, the fans were disappointed and felt the absence of Lasith Malinga.

Mumbai Indians fans took to Twitter to express their sorrow over Lasith Malinga's absence following Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians in the Super Over in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League 2020 at Dubai International Stadium on Monday.

After a thrilling game which ended in a tie with the score of 201, the teams played the Super Over. Mumbai Indians set the target of 8 for the Virat Kohli led RCB. Jasprit Bumrah was elected to bowl on behalf of Mumbai who failed to defend the score and they eventually lost the match.

Although the score was too low for Bumrah to defend successfully, the fans were disappointed and felt the absence of Lasith Malinga. They took to Twitter and requested the most successful bowler to come back and play for MI. The Sri Lankan cricketer who had played for the franchise since 2008 opted out of this year's season citing personal reason. He has taken 170 wickets for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians are set to face Kings XI Punjab on Thursday.
