Andhra crushes TN by 6 wickets

Andhra thrashed Tamil Nadu by six wickets in the BCCI Senior Women Elite ‘B’ One-Day duel in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Asked to bat, Tamil Nadu kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was bowled out for a paltry 89 in 38.2 overs. K Anjali Sarvani (3/17) and K Dhathri (3/11) bagged three wickets each for the winning side. Chasing an easy target, Andhra got past the finish line in 23.5 overs, losing only four wickets in the process.


Brief scores: Tamil Nadu 89 all-out in 38.2 overs (S Anusha 32, K Anjali Sarvani 3/17, K Dhathri 3/11) lost to Andhra 91 for 4 in 23.5 overs (S Hima Bindu 43, V Pushpalatha 26*, S Anusha 2/17).


Belliappa passes away


Former South Zone and Tamil Nadu captain PK Belliappa, aged 79 years, passed away on Wednesday. Belliappa was a stylish opening batsman and wicketkeeper for the state side between 1959 and 1974. TNCA President and members offered their sincere condolences to Belliappa’s family.
