Sushma Swaraj was a fine human being,excellent administrator: TN Governor

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Wednesday condoled the death of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and hailed her as a "fine human being" and "able administrator."

Swaraj (67), veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Tuesday night following a massive cardiac arrest.

"The sudden demise of Tmt (Mrs) Sushma Swaraj fills me with shock and grief. A fine human being, as an able administrator, she handled the external affairs of the nation successfully and devoted herself for the welfare of the people," he said.

In a condolence message released by the Raj Bhavan, Purohit also described her as a "star woman leader with charismatic personality.

"A star woman leader with charismatic personality, she was an inspiring role model for the entire women community. Her demise is an irreparable loss to the nation. The nation today has lost a dynamic leader," he said.

The Governor conveyed his deep condolences and prayed that her soul rest in peace.
