Leave immediately: India tells citizens in Ukraine as war escalates

Martial law has been imposed in the four regions that recently voted to become part of Russia amid the conflict with Ukraine.

CHENNAI: Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Wednesday advised citizens and students to leave at the earliest as the country's war with Russia escalated.

The letter read, "In view of the deteriorating security situation & recent escalation of hostilities across Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised against travelling to Ukraine. Indian citizens, including students, in Ukraine are advised to leave Ukraine at the earliest.”
