Library in Anna Nagar for civil services aspirants

In a bid to help aspirants wanting to crack the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, the Rotary Club of Chennai Sun City has helped build a library annexe in Anna Nagar East, opposite Bougainvillea Park. It was inaugurated by T Udhayachandran, School Education Secretary on Friday.

The resource material in the library will be available for students planning to appear for civil services exams. It will be open from 8 am to 8 pm on all days, except Fridays. Dr S Kannappan, Director of School Education and Director of Public Library, S Elangochandra Kumar, District Library Officer and S Ranganathan, Librararian were also present on the occasion.  

The newly added study room, measuring 600 sq ft, has adequate infrastructure, including racks, tables, chairs and books, donated by Firm Foundations on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. Books would be added on a regular basis. The maintenance and upkeep of the library have also been undertaken by Firm Foundations, said a press release.
