This cost-effective cardiac assist device requires no pump or control system and is an attempt to improve quality of life and reduce heart care costs for millions of patients across the globe. Dr K M Cherian, Chairman and CEO of Frontier Mediville, said, “This collaboration is a historical milestone and we are glad that Frontier Lifeline Hospital is the only private hospital which has been selected for the AISRF.”

The Indo-Australian Research Exchange Program was signed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull during the latter’s recent visit to India. QHeart Medical, in collaboration with Frontier Mediville, along with the University of New South Wales and Queensland University of Technology, are developing a revolutionary heart failure treatment device.

The AISRF is aimed at developing bilateral science collaboration and bridging links between Australia’s and India’s top universities, research institutions and the users of scientific innovation. More than $100 million has been committed towards AISRF and the programme has  supported around 300 collaborative activities.
