They were identified as G Kalpana, an assistant professor, and daughter Gunali Sri (14). Noticing a foul smell from the house that remained locked for more than a week, neighbours alerted landlord Dhandapani. When they broke open and entered the house, Kalpana was found hanging while the girl’s body was on the bed. The Kotturpuram police found two suicide notes, which alleged that two men cheated them after taking loans.

Officials are searching for her husband Geetha Krishnan and their younger daughter. The family had shifted to the house a month ago.
